Oculus Spring Newsletter

Welcome to our first Newsletter of 2010. We are hoping that the green shoots of spring will coincide with the reported ‘green shoots’ of the country’s economic recovery. After the worst winter in many decades to start the year, the seasonal change in the weather should benefit both nature and the construction industry.

Having spoken with many construction professionals, it would appear that Oculus has managed to remain comparatively healthy and secure through the recession. We continue to secure prestigious historic building projects including:

  • Refurbishment works at the Royal West of England Academy in Bristol with Ferguson Mann Architects
  • Reinstatement of apartments at Swallowfield Park near Reading with Sunley Heritage plc
  • Alterations at King’s College, Taunton with Mitchell Taylor Workshop
  • We are carrying out Fire Risk Assessments for the Architectural Association at their prestigious Bedford Square campus in London

We have also been engaged on other prestigious projects including:

  • Our association with the motor manufacturing industry continues with us providing the building control services for an engine manufacturing facilities for a blue chip client.
  • Our association with the academic world continues with on going and new projects at the Universities of Hertfordshire, Brunel, Sussex and Queen Mary, London.  In higher educational establishments we have projects at Wiltshire Colleges, Lackham, King’s College, Taunton and Energy Skills Centre, Bridgwater.  We also have school projects at: St Catherine’s Primary School in Barnet, St Olave’s Grammer School, Orpington, Chiswick & Bedford Park, London, Monkton Combe School, Bath and St John’s and Maytree Infants Schools, Southampton.
