Situation
We provided a fee proposal for first phase of a project to architect and client. Architect was unable to persuade Project Manager to pay small amount more for our services. Project proceeded but was in danger of not completing on time due to a dispute between Design/Client Team and the building control body and fire authority with regards to the architect’s fire strategy.
Needed
A fire strategy acceptable to the approving bodies.
Quantified benefit
We provided a written fire strategy to fully justify the architect’s approach and philosophy which was accepted by both parties. As a result we were appointed for the subsequent phase of the development.
