John Mullen MSc, MRICS

John has over 35 years experience in the construction industry and has been involved with the design and construction of buildings from inception to completion. At the beginning of his career he was involved in the design of public buildings, but moved to building control as a Building Control Surveyor. John has worked mainly in the Bristol and Bath Area as a Chartered Building Surveyor and holds a Master of Science degree (with Distinction) in the Conservation of Historic Buildings from the University of Bath. John’s unique understanding of the technical, legal and social constraints associated particularly with historic buildings has a key role within the company. As a qualified teacher John is keen to promote the understanding of the building control function through lectures and discussion which he was able to successfully when he headed up the Centre for Construction and Engineering at City of Bath College.
